Hello I had biopsies taken from right breast on the 8th March 2022. I have received a letter to see the breast consultant on Tuesday 22nd March.
no indication on what my results are.
Do drs always give not so good news face to face at the moment ? If it was benign would they have mentioned this in the letter ? I’m worried sick!
There’s no easy way to answer this that will quell your anxiety I’m afraid - Drs/clinics will usually only deal with a repeat appointment to give any sort of result, I believe. I don’t know if this changed in any way during the worst of Covid, but if it did I think that processes are back to normal - back to seeing women in person. They never give any news either benign or malignant via letter or telephone, so there is no way of ‘reading into it’ either way of the news you will get. Often even if some sort of benign condition exists there is conversation they want to have surrounding it, and sometimes discussing repeat mammograms in a set period of time for example.
I know this won’t be any help to you really, at your time of great concern and trying to apply logic to the situation is understandable. Being called back for an appointment doesn’t tell you anything much, but I am wondering if they gave you any impression at the time of your biopsies being taken ? I think, it is sensible to be prepared for any eventuality and remind yourself that even if something does show in those biopsy results, that like the hundreds of thousands before you (myself included 6 years ago), you would be treated with a modern individual effective plan.
Stay in touch on here during this horrible waiting time, it is really really psyhcologically tough.
