Hi all,
Hope this doesn’t sound like a daft question but I’ve been on tamoxifen for 12 months and have quite a regular sex life with my husband (I’m 44). We are not taking any precautions and obviously at this age I don;t want any more kiddies and husband is reluctant to have the ‘snip’. I’m unsure of what sort of contraception I can use - I was on the Pill for years and certainly don’t want to go back on any thing like that.

Hi Milli,
The pill is out of the question if you are on tamoxifen and you really need to be careful as although tamoxifen reduces the oestrogen in the body there is still a risk of getting pregnant. You should go to your GP to discuss the possibilities but for now condoms would be best until you discuss the options.
