I had a lumpectomy yesterday and was discharged today at lunch time. I have a wound where my nipple was and everything was clean and dry when I left. When they removed the drain they really had to tug and I sure felt it. They said it was inserted deeply but all was well, I had a wash and got dressed and by the time I left say an hour or so after removel there was nothing wrong.
When I went to change into my PJs for an early night there was blood but not from the drain site but through the nipple incision. I am very sqeamish and it might be perfectly normal. Any opinions? I will be on the phone first thing in the morning but I am really hoping someone will tell me this is not unusual!
