Hi all,
I recently developed jaundice & terrible itching & have been feeling really unwell. An ultrasound has shown that a bile duct in the liver is blocked. I go in hospital on Tues to have a ‘procedure’ to unblock it.
I was just wondering if anybody has had this procedure as I’m not sure what to expect.

Afraid I can’t help as I know nothing about this procedure although I had heard the bile duct could get blocked. Know how horrible being jaundiced can be though, so sending you a big hug and hoping all goes well on Tuesday.

So sorry you’re struggling with the discomfort & irritation of jaundice. Sounds like you’ll have a stent inserted into your blocked bile duct – it’s a little hollow tube, that will unblock the duct and hopefully keep the duct from blocking up again. Then bile will flow and jaundice will go – fingers crossed for you!

Good luck on Tuesday. I don’t know much (anything?) about the actual procedure but was going to write what Marilyn had - just wanted to say that I hope it goes well and the discomfort eases really quickly.
