Just sharing something that happened last night… I was watching tele when suddently my vision went totally blurred as if I’d taken my glasses off, this happened on and off last night until this morning. Totally couldn’t read, watch tele or do anything, it was miserable.
I called chemo unit this morning and went in to see them fortunatley nothing sinister and not likely to be and mets (I’m grade 3 but no lymth inv) and just prescribed Optrex Eye Drops which seems to have helped.
Just thought I’d share it in case anyone comes across this themselves! Cos it’s scary and horrible!
Happened to me to on and off for 3 days. My onc was surprised and didn’t think it was fec but it appears to be out there in the group. Glad to say I’m ok now but didn’t like not being able to read. Chris xx
Well the doctor and opthalmatrist I saw said she’d seen it before and thinks it’s the cyclophosamide that does it. Eye drops work and help so if anyone gets this as a temp measure go get some optrex refreshing eye drops to help until you see someone, so to speak Was bloody miserable whilst it was happening, I love reading and I’m on my own all day in the week so was dreading no reading tele, what would I have done? Couldnt’ have gone for a walk either it was that bad! Thank god it’s sorted is all I can say! xxx
I am on Epi and also have had this each cycle. I ended up in A&E the first time as had really really bad pain behind the right eye and couldnt keep it open for more than a few seconds. Saw the eye specialist and she said was a se and gave me eye drops to use. Woke up this morning and it is back thought the room was filled with smoke!!! but as no smoke alarm going off decided it wasn’t! The eye drops are called chloramphenicol and are a real help
