Bone pain on letrozole and zoladex

Hi

Am experiencing pain in my hand and wrist, almost like cramp. Also, if I put pressure on the top of my foot, I get a feeling like an electric short running up it! Has anyone else experienced this? Is it peripheral neropathy? Didn’t experience this after chemo, but came on after Rads and while on hormones.

Hi Sue

ive been on Letrozole for 5 weeks and have experienced the pain you are talking about in my hands and feet quite a lot. Sometimes I get cramp in my hands so opening jars and things can be quite painful. Also wake up in the night with pains in my joints. I’ve also had the pain you describe in my toes that can be quite intense and like a shooting pain at times. I keep thinking it might be getting slightly better then it gets worse again. My BCN says the symptoms do settle down after the first couple of months. When do you take your pill? I take it in the evening now so the worst pain is in the night and I can take some paracetamol and sleep through it (mostly!) It was worse when I took it in the morning. It’s such a tiny pill - it’s amazing it has such an effect! As long as it’s keeping the cancer at bay I can put up with the side effects! I’m having my surgery next Friday and the surgeon said the Letrozole would keep me safe until then. I was diagnosed in November so it has been a long wait. I hope things settle down for you soon.
