had bloods done with line flush yesterday and neutrophils right down again, so scan and this week’s chemo might have to wait a few days. feel much calmer about it all, kids and OH are fully aware and OK about it.
partied well at the weekend - glad I didn’t know about bloods, might have felt obliged to behave myself!

Monica I’m so relieved for you!! I was supposed to have my bone scan next Monday but I bottled out today and phoned up to postpone it. Starting to wish I hadn’t, as living in fear is not doing me any favours! Anyway, go and celebrate hon!!! xx

Pleased your results are good daisyleaf. I’m just back from having my scan- I have to wait a week for the results- by that time I will have had my first FEC.

hi Monica, sorry i wasnt online last night so only just read your good news, thats sooooooo wonderful, and has really cheered me up!
I read somewhere too, that bonescans can pick up changes at cell level, not sure if its true but definately a bonus if it is!

Hi Caro111, i am sorry to read that you “chickened” out of your scan. Have you had the courage to make another appointment yet? Monica was scared too and very worried about what it may show up…but all was clear. Maybe you are causing yourself unnecessary worry. I know it is scary but try to take courage and face your demons. We will be here to support you no matter what the results are.
Well done Monica. So what are they going to suggest for your painful shoulder now? Have you to see your Consultant again? I hope you have a Happy Birthday and let us know what you treatmed yourself to! As for Xmas shopping. I always LOATH it. I sis enjoy it all when the children were around but I can never decide what to buy anyone anymore as everyone seems to have everything these days. I once asked the girls which Xmas they had enjoyed the most and both said it was the year we didn’t cook Christmas dinner. My husband, a nurse was on early shift and wouldn’t get home until 3 or 4pm. So we sat around most of the day, opening their parcels and watching TV etc. Then when Dad got home we ordered a carry out Chinese meal, no shopping, no cooking, no washing up! The next best Christmas was when I could lots of different Curries and had lots of friends/family over…again no cooking on the day, no stressed out parents, just chilled and enjoyed the good food, thge good company and of course the good wine! Makes you think doesn’t it! Maybe I am a “Scrouge” now but I just find all the hectic shopping unbearable and I really detest crowds and the panic that seems to set in. But if other people enjoy the day that is good too. I just find it all too much now. Love Val XX

Day 5 of chemo here - I love day 5 so much, always feel much better! had hideous time this cycle, courtesy of neulasta jab that I reacted badly to. Not having anymore of that!

Val & Monica, thanks for your comments. I’ve decided to postpone the scan until after my last chemo, which is a week today (yippee!!!). I spoke to a consultant radiologist who said that it’s not ideal to have the scan whilst on chemo anyway, as apparently it can interfere with the results. As I mentioned to you Monica, my consultant onc said he’s not the least bit worried about it, which is why I’m not too concerned about delaying it for a while longer. I will keep you posted though! Glad you’re feeling a better Monica.

I know this is an old thread but for anyone still checking it: I finally had my bone scan on Thursday and hubby just phoned me with the results: IT IS ALL CLEAR!!! YIPPPEEEE. Am off to Antigua tomorrow so talk about a celebration!!! xxxx
