hi all Can anyone help me I finished all my chemo 3 weeks ago. I was given an appointment for 6 months time. I thought great no more hospitals for 6 months. Then this morning I got a letter which has really worried me they are sending me for a bone scan is this normal I am sure I had one of these before my masectomy I just cant remember as it was 7 months ago. I am so worried in case they think its gone to my bones has this happened to anyone else and do they give you the results the same day I would appreciate any information anyone has for me. It has upset my whole day as I do feel so well and was hopeing to start a new job in 2 weeks. Love Linda

Is it a bone DENSITY scan ? I’m asking this because you’ve posted elsewhere on the board saying that youv’e started Arimidex.
I started Aromasin a few weeks ago. It has the same action as that of Arimidex i.e. it stops oestrogen from being produced and therefore from forming new tumours if your tumour was ER+. But if we are short of oestrogen our bones can suffer. I had a bone density scan before starting my Aromasin to give them a baseline - so that later they can see if the condition of my bones has deteriorated due to the Aromasin.
Check to see if that’s what you’re having - and let us know.

Hi Anthi Thanks thats probably what they are doing I am not worried so much now I do know I had 2 scans at the beginning I know one was for my heart and I am sure the other was bone scan This whole 7 months has been a bit of a blur I cannot even remember what we did last Xmas day or New Year. I am making up for lost time now I didnt expect to feel so well so soon after chemo I will live life to the full now. You Take Care Love Linda xxx
