Hello again everyone

Can anyone help please, I have been having bad back pain in two areas over the past few weeks I have been very lucky that my oncologist saw me straight away and organised lots of tests including a bone scan which I am going to have on Friday.

The appointment came through today and at the bottom of the instructions it says that if I have had chemo or radiotherapy in the last 6 months to ring them to reschedule. I am terrified that they will refuse to do it even though my oncologist has asked for it.

Has anyone else heard of this, I am so worried.

Hi Jane,
Sorry to hear of your new symptoms - it must be a really worrying time for you.
That is very weird. I had bone scans in the middle of chemo and there was no issue at all - people must be doing this all the time. There’s nothing for it but to phone and see what the issue is. Your onc obviously thought you could have it so they’ll have to answer to him if they want to reschedule. Lets hope thay just need to know so they can take that into account when they read them…

Hi Jane,

I had a bonescan during radiotherapy if thats any help and also had an MRI scan during chemo.

I think like Jacquie said they need to take these things into account when they read your scans.

Hi Everyone

Thanks so much for your advice, I rang the hospital today and when I told them I finished radiotherapy eight weeks ago they said that was fine to turn up tomorrow as planned?

All that worry for nothing, but it is so good to have feedback from everyone.

I should know the results next Thursday.

Good luck for next Thursday.

I don’t think they really take on board the worry that people go and, as you say, it was all for nothing which could have been avoided but at least it’s now sorted.
