It’s always best to get these things checked out, you are doing the right thing, but you could have picked up a bug or something, hopefully you’ll get your appointment soon.

Hi all,
I know you can’t really answer this but some advice would help. I had lumpectomy, chemo, rads and have just finished 18 doses of Herecptin about 3 weeks ago. I was extremely lucky as I caught it early and it was only a grade 1. So everything good.but I thought I had a problem about 8 weeks ago I started to have a very painful Breast enough to wake me through the night. I went to see the Breast Doc and he has stated the pain is in the bone behind the breast and not in the Breast. He is sending me for a Bone Scan which I should have in the next two weeks and then I see him again the following week. When I asked what he thought the cause of the pain was he just said let’s wait for the Bone scan results. Could this be serious do you think or has anyone any other ideas what it maybe? Thanks all
Hello Icequeen
It is good you are getting a bone scan to check this out.It will help confirm things for you one way or the other and hopefully will rule out anything. It is possible the pain could have been caused by the rads but it is best to get things checked out.
Good luck and hope the results rule out anything else.

Hi Lucinda,
Quick update had my bone scan last Monday. The nurse who did it couldn’t tell me anything but did say a;ot of women come in for bone scans and it is due to thining of the bones. But I had my rads over a year ago but fingers crossed. I see the ono on wednesday this week of d day. Still sore and my breast feels heavy or swollen but it dosent look it so now Im thinking I might have some sort of infection. Really cant wait for the answer. One thing I will say how great is my Breast doc getting me seen so quickly 2wks today when I went to see him. excellent Doc eh!
So pleased you have a good doctor, makes such a difference. The waiting for the results is the worse and hope they are nothing to worry about.
Good Luck

Hi, I am sorry to butt in - cannot start a new thread, either too dopey or the gremlins are biting.
I have just had a bone scan showing abnormalities. An MRI scan has been booked for Tuesday with a follow up on thursday. This has left me feeling very agitated in the extreme. One part of my mind says it is probably arthritis or similar then the other part is saying why are they so darned quick? It is only a week since the bone scan. Can’t help worrrying just need to say this to someone.
Hope it all works out for you folks.
Jacquix
Hi Jacquix, I am sorry that you are worried about the MRI scan that has been arranged for you so quickly after your bone scan. But it sounds as if they are just getting all the information they can to see what is happeneing. I think it is great that they are wanting to do this but I do understand why you are feeling anxious about the whle thing. The waing for tests is hard but the waiting for resuts can be equally distressing. I hope the scans do not show anything scary but if they do we will be here for you. There is a great thread (above this one on the latest posts page) that is mainy for ladies with bone mets. I post on there and there are lots of other ladies on there like me who have had bone mets for years. I hope you do not need to join us but we are around if your results are not what you hope to hear. Keep in touch. Will look out for an update. Fingers crossed for you that there is nothing to worry about. Val
