bras - smaller cup size
bras - smaller cup size Hi everyone
Just thought I’d post as this might be useful to someone.
after a disappointing search for a mastectomy bra that I could feel happy to wear that didnt cost the earth, and that was not such a full cup as to swamp a small chest (34A) I have found something that works at least for me with a little adapting.
Primark do t-shirt bras for £4 each in some nice colours, and matching pants to go with (my other grumble about mastectomy bras, such a limited choice of matching pants). Pretty little lace panels on the side and between the cups.
The cup size is enough to easily cover my softy, havent yet got my proper prosthesis so yet to put that to the test, but a bit of body tape keeps the cup close to my body and so allows v-neck tops. They are wired but i took the wires out - don’t mind cutting them if they’re only £4! I have found them far more comfortable than the non-wired soft bra i bought from M&S for twice the price.
Not sure that they’d be supportive enough for larger ladies, maybe worth a try at £4 though to get a different colour.

Message for mandyx - smaller cups mandyx. thanks for your note on the bras. I am on the process of getting myself a bra post op (due to have recon in Sept) - M&S have measured me at 32B - will check out Primark. Waiting for smaller comfies to be sent to Breast Nurse. How do you secure the comfie to the bra - does a pin do? Also, where do you get the tape from ? is this just tape which girls use to fix their ‘revealing’ tops down ?

For Vezza - bras Hi Karen
Yep, I pin the softy to the bra, these Primark ones are the t-shirt type so have some shape and can take a pin without going all “wobbly”!. I think I got the tape from superdrug, but i have seen it on the end of a clothes aisle in tesco aswell - and yes, that’s the type of tape. not sure I could have used it immediately post op cos of the numbness/sensitivity of the skin, but is fine now 6 weeks later.
all the best
Mandy
