I don’t really know and I’m wondering whether this is linked to some of us from this site going down to Westminster tomorrow because there are no stats or data collected for secondaries and how this affects the genetic side either. I’m waiting for my results to come through.
I have been told (via one of Alan Johnson’s minions in the Department of Health) that collecting data and stats is quite complex and costly in this area so I’m interested in hearing what they have to say tomorrow.
Another good book to read is ‘The Breast Cancer Book’ by Val Sampson and Debbie Fenlon. It’s a very uplifting book and written by someone (Val Sampson) who has been diagnosed and covers diagnosis, treatment and life after breast cancer.
Sorry I can’t be more specific on genes - perhaps someone else knows?
