Breast Cancer Care’s Vita magazine

Breast Cancer Care’s Vita magazine is looking for people who have been affected by breast cancer to tell their stories for the next issue. If you would like to share your experiences of breast cancer with our readers, we’d like to hear from you.

Possible areas we are looking to cover include:

Your experiences of returning to work after breast cancer

Making time for things you enjoy in between treatments

How you marked the end of your treatment

Changing your career or retraining after having breast cancer.

Participants will interviewed by a member of the Breast Cancer Care publishing team.

If you’d like to take part, please send your name and contact details along with a brief summary of the experiences you’d like to share and a little information about yourself to <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%4c%61%75%72%61%46%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%22%3e%4c%61%75%72%61%46%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script>.

Vita magazine is published twice a year by Breast Cancer Care and can be ordered online at breastcancercare.org.uk/content.php?page_id=4793

I’ve never seen a copy of Vita. Is it only relevant for those with primary breast cancer?

Ditto mrsblue’s comment other than I had primary BC and didn’t see it.

You can sign up for a copy by following one of the links on the homepage.Choose Information. Go to publications page, then halfway down on right in yellow is ‘go to quick order list’. Scroll down to health and wellbeing section, and it’s there.
I was sent a Vita mag about 8 months ago, but haven’t received any more since. Do I have to request it again or will I automatically get the next issue?

Am I dopey or what! Just seen the link above…

Vita is relevant to women with primary or secondary breast cancer (we’ve also featured men with breast cancer). It contains real life stories from readers, information on health issue surrounding breast cancer and ‘Question & Answers’ with Breast Cancer Care’s nurse team.

However, Vita is for anyone affected by breast cancer, which includes partners, friends and family of those with breast cancer.

Vita is produced twice a year. The last issue was published in November 2007 and if you’ve registered to join our mailing list, you should get the next issue automatically.

I just requested a copy of Vita magazine - the info said they have no more copies!
Go figure! What is the point of the exercise? Beats me.

There are plenty of copies of Vita issue 3 available. These can be ordered online as discussed above or you can request to be added to the mailing list by calling 0845 092 0808 or emailing <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%70%75%62%6c%69%63%61%74%69%6f%6e%73%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%22%3e%70%75%62%6c%69%63%61%74%69%6f%6e%73%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script>.
Please contact us if you have any problems ordering any of our publications.

Is this only for women and men who have dx of Breast Cancer, I have had a Bilateral Prophylactic Mastectomy, and want more information and stories on this, to support women and men who are having Risk Reducing Preventative Mastectomies.
There isnt much information on this, and support for us,

Is there going to be a feature on this or Not??
xx

Have been receiving Vita for a while it is very informative and has useful articles in it

Vita is a magazine for people with breast cancer. There has been two articles in our newsletters on risk reducing preventative mastectomies but this subject would not be suitable for Vita.

Many thanks for your information Publishing Team… I know about the articles in your Newsletters as I wrote one of them…!

But thank you for clarifying Vita magazines are for people with Breast Cancer, it is still very informative for anyone that reads it.
