I have been recently diagnosed with BC. I also have a couple of lumps on my lymph nodes, although after biopsie they appear to be non cancerous. I am waiting for my op booked at the end of Oct.
Now, I have started to get a dull type ‘niggle’ in my shoulder (same side as lumps) I am filled with obvious dread that the Cancer has spread. Does anybody have any experience of this?
Thank you for reading x
hi, firstly sorry you have joined us on this site . we are the club no one wants to join, when i was diagnosed last year i also had odd aches and pains, stomach sholder, you name it and mine hurt, obviousley the first thing we think is OH NO… its spreading… when we are told the dreaded news, our minds fly in to panic mode… and we associate any ache and pain with cancer… my aches and pains turned out to be just emotional stress, i think the time i spent on the rollercoaster from hell took down my barriers…and made my mind work overtime , amazingly all my aches and pains disapeared when i recieved the news that my lymph glands were clear… try the usual pain killers you took if you had any pains etc before you were diagnosed, they will probably do the trick , best wishes and a big hug… angie xx
Hi, I don’t get any pain like you have mentioned, but can only sympathise. My only problem is that since my bone scan found arthritis in my left shoulder, it constantly aches!!! Now I know I have it - I can feel it! xx
So sorry you have had a rotten time of it with the BC diagnosis, something we all appreciate too well. the Forumd are full of lovely people who have been there and will prop you up as you go through your treatment to get rid of the problem.
As the others have said it is so scarry and any odd pain puts fear of further nasty things going on. You say you had biopsies done on your lymph nodes . That in itself could cause a reactionary change in the nodes or bruising which might have irritate nerve. (The axilla has the nerves which go down the arm chest and back).
I do hope all is well but if the ache continues or if you get too worried phone NHS direct or contact your GP. Have you got a Breast Care Nurse? It might be worthwhile mentioning it to her. Not that I want to make you think anything sinister is going on. I know what it is like to have worries that you fear will be too trivial to mention yet pray on your mind.
As Angiem suggested pain killers like ibopufren might help and as horsie5050 suggests it could be arthritis.
The Helpline at BCC is really supportive and could perhaps put your mind at ease or point you in the right direction.
I will be thinking of you
Big Hug

Thank you for your replies. I phoned my BCN today, and she said that my feelings are common & that it is all probaly due to tension & bruising, and the best thing would be to get a massage.
Tomorrow, I will let you know how I feel
