Oh my god that is terrible!!! I’m so so sorry to hear of your situation it’s so frightening to hear about how often these things are missed
. I will definitely take that on board, I know the GP was quite matter of fact about it being a 2cm cyst and almost brushed it off…. Til she found the lump in my breast same side
just arrived at clinic I so pray I’m in and out and all is ok
sending you lots of positive hugs xx
Thinking of you @pip1 and hoping it’s good news
Thank you so much everyone for your kind support, I’ve just come out.. all ok!!! I’m in shock!!!
Consultant felt the large lump and marked it up for mammogram and ultrasound but looked just like a knot of fibrous glandular breast tissue with no concerning features!!! Lump in armpit definite cyst with no further action. I could cry I’m so relieved! But I also feel so silly for all the worry I caused myself, my family and all of you, especially when you are all dealing with worse outcomes
I thank every one of you for the kindness you have shown me and I’m sending love to you all. I will remain on this forum as this experience has taught me to actually check myself regularly whereas being honest, I hadn’t done before
lots of love, Ruth xxx
We can cry with relief with you. I’m so very happy you have good news ![]()
I don’t consider myself any less lucky. I found cancer and through finding it they will fix me ![]()
The hardest part, by far, was making the appointments and getting ourselves there. We should all be very proud of that including you.
Wishing you all the best ![]()
@pip1 That’s wonderful news! x
Oh how wonderful to hear good news from someone - I am so so pleased for you. Now you can relax and enjoy Christmas!
I agree with every word of that @foxgem !
That is such fantastic news and I am so relieved with you.
Like @foxgem said, mine was found on a routine mammogram and no signs of an issue. So I find myself lucky too.
You haven’t bothered anyone - we would have reacted the same.
Sending hugs and continue to be kind to yourself x
Oh my goodness you ladies are absolutely amazing ![]()

Ruth, this is amazing news, just what I wanted and needed to hear. I am so so pleased for you.
So glad you reached out on here because although you have had a great result today, you have really been through it. Us ladies all know how the weeks drag and the worry is very real. You did the right thing coming on here and I’m so glad we could all be here for you. I hope you never need us again but you know where we are if you are concerned again.
Take care of yourself and keep checking x

Sending you lots of positive thoughts for Monday
Try to keep busy and be gentle with yourself. Breathing exercises and little distractions can really help. You’ve got this!
I just wanted to say you’re not alone. I had a very similar referral and the wait for the clinic was honestly the worst part. I also convinced myself the lump felt bigger and different once I started checking it myself. In my case it turned out to be benign changes and a reactive lymph node, but the anxiety beforehand was intense.
The clinic will do proper imaging and explain everything clearly, which really helped calm my mind. Try to be kind to yourself over the weekend and remember that lots of breast lumps and underarm lumps are not cancer, especially at our age.
Thinking of you for Monday and hoping you get reassurance quickly. Please update us when you can.
