Breast clinic appointment - scared

Hi I’m 23 years old and I’ve been referred to a breast clinic my appointment is in 8 days time it is on Monday 15th and I am petrified I’m struggling to get through this week and would really like some support and help.

There was no lump found when I got checked and the lady said she  see anything wrong with my breasts but a week later I got a second opinion and he agreed I needed to be referred … I have thickening of tissue around my nipple on my right breast  when my arm is raised and also looks like slight dimpling underneath my nipple which you can see when arm is raised also. Also been having abit of breast pain . I also have a red spot which is sore which has got infected by me picking at it but with 3 lots of different antibiotics it hasn’t took it away … doc thinks it’s not related.

anyway I’m really nervous for my appointment and would like to speak to anyone going or gone through similar thing, I have a 3 year old daughter and I’m worried sick . sorry for the long paragraph !

Hi Laur

I don’t have a similar story but I just wanted to stop by and say hi. It’s so scary being referred, but good to get things checked out even for your peace of mind.

You are so young, so that is def on your side as very rare in young women. I’m currently going for ultrasound and specialist on Monday for a lump, I’m 39 though, but keep telling myself it’s way more likely to be nothing serious.
As hard as it is, and I know I have been the google queen, try not to google your symptoms as it only ever gives dated information and the worst case. Hopefully you get seen and it’s something benign and easily sorted for you.
Hopefully someone will come along soon who has a similar situation to you. In the meantime try to keep as busy as you can.

Wishing you all the best and hoping for a good outcome for you x
