Breast pain 8 months on?

Hi, it’s my first time on here. I’m 33 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer this january, I have had lumpectomy and full lymph node removal as it had spread to the first 3 lymph nodes removed with first surgery. I have also finished chemotherapy and radiotherapy ( so now have a very fetching crew cut)… I just wondered if anyone else who has had the same surgery still has pain (sort of like a tenderness) on their breast and the area under the scar on their armpit??? have been back to the hospital loads as the scar kept opening up while i was having my chemo but thats been finished for 10 weeks now and scar is fine but still keep getting this pain and surgery was 8 months ago?

hello hun… i 2 was diagnosed with breast cancer this yr, i has 2 operations and sentinal +3 nodes removed. i was lucky the lymph nodes were clear, i had 17 radiotherapys but no chemo.my treatment finished in august i have also been having strange aches and pains im my breast so i popped in 2 the breast clinic and had a word with one of the breast care nurses, she assures me that this is a quite normal to experience and it can last for a long time, as the rads damage the good tissue as well as the bad, she said if i felt any lumps or bumps and i was worried to ring and they will see me. so i think the same will apply 2 u 2 so dont worry, its normal xx

Hi - I had my surgery last November, and whilst I don’t have any continual pain or tenderness, I still get the occasional ache or sometimes a sharper stabbing pain in the breast and armpit. I think this is perfectly normal, and my recent mammo was clear (had a CT this morning for something else so hope that will be clear as well). Of course there would be no harm in checking with your BCN to put your mind at ease, but it doesn’t sound abnormal.

finty xx
