Breast surgery with permanent expanders

I have had a really bad time with Chemo having an aniflatic reaction to the T and carrying on with the fec I have been ill in and out of hospitall with infection and nutropenic and also back spasms which the  consultant has said that the chemo has attached my back this has left me having to be on constant 80mg morphine which stops me going out and about as I carnt stand for long periods and feel as if i am going to pass out.  It has been decided that I must have a mastectomy on the right and lumpcetomy on the left.    Since the breast cancer surgeon finding further large area of pre-cancerous cells on the right i have been put forward to have an urgent op with has just been confirmed to be the 3 April which is scarey.  I did want to go with immediate reconstruction with my own skin to have more natural breasts but since been ill i have lost a lot of weight  and been a 34dd i don’t have that option I have been recommended to go with permanent expanders which will be for my left breast as well as the right mascetomy one.  Can anyone give me some advice as to what to expect for the op and the results?  Thanks any advise appreciated  :)

Hi I had mastectomy with tissue expander implant in August last year. The cosmetic result looked good and even better with inflations of the expander, with saline. I’m due to have the expander replaced with silicone on the left and another silicone on the right side. I could have stayed as I was with the expander partially inflated, but as I’m only a 32aa, I chose to go bigger. After the op, I felt ok, but the drain was quite uncomfortable. You will need someone at home, to help you for a few days. I took all the painkillers they gave me for a few weeks. Also, they will show you some exercises to do, which do help. I was only in hospital one night and think I went home too soon. The drain came out a week later. I just felt so relieved to have the cancer out of me. It took me 3 weeks before I could drive and my car is an automatic. I went back to work on a phased return at 8 weeks, but emotionally I think it was too soon. My advise is to let others help, rest and look after yourself. Good luck ?
