CA15-3 results

Hello,

I am coming up to three years since diagnosis and treatment for primary lobular breast cancer. I am due to have a telephone appointment next week with the oncology nurse and have looked at my blood test results prior to this. The CA15-3 tumour markers results have gone up very slightly but are still within the normal range. It was 20.3 in April 19, 20.1 in December 19 and is now 23.4. I will ask the nurse on Tuesday if there is cause for concern due to this change  as I am not sure if the levels can fluctuate due to other reasons. Just wondered if anyone has has experience of CA15-3 monitoring  for recurrence and if so if they have had increases that turned out to be nothing. I know that these markers are not routinely used for monitoring as there is some dispute as to their worth but it does not take much to put my mind into overdrive. Thanks in advance for your help. Linda
