Calcifications

Hi,

I went to to the doctors a month ago as I had a large (approx 4cm) solid lump in my right breast.

Fast forward and I was at the breast clinic, the consultant said as I’m under 40 they would just Do an ultrasound and take it from there. I was then called in to a room to say change of plan and they did a mammogram, followed by Ultrasound.

During the ultrasound, I was told I had suspicious calcification in right but also found a smaller cluster in left. Biopsies were then done on both and I’m due results this Wednesday.

The wait has been hell and I’ve been in complete agony with the recovery from biopsies, today is the first day I am feeling a bit more flexible! Day 10

I’ve read everywhere that calcification isn’t cancer but has anyone else ever had experience of suspicious calcification and it be cancer? Especially in both breasts?

Thank you in advance x

Hi L1211,

Thank you for your post.

I am sorry you haven’t had a response yet. I am hoping my response will help our members to see it and provide their experience.

In the meantime, please remember that for any clinical question our breast care nurses are here and happy to talk.

Sending you our warmest wishes,

Zoe

Hi L1211 - I’m afraid I can’t answer your question but I wanted to welcome you to the forum and give you a big hug as you wait for your results. The waiting really is the hardest part as your mind can go into overdrive. Do try to stay away from Google and keep yourself busy, occupied. Now is the time for lots of treats and kindness to yourself.

I hope someone else will come along, but if I can help with anything else please ask, or if you would just like to chat.

I wish you all the best for Wednesday- do come back and let us know how you get on, if you feel like it of course. Hugs, Evie xx
