Hi! I’m Lilac. I’ve been posting on the forums here for quite a while now - since my diagnosis in May 2010. I’m getting close to the end of the active stage of treatment. Just one Herceptin to go, then carry on with Tamoxifen.
I’m a professional artist and an idea for an exhibition has been brewing in the back of my mind for a while. There is now a gallery interested in showing it when completed.
The idea came to me not long after diagnosis. I began taking photos of my bruises and scars, partly because I wanted to record my recovery and remind myself how far I’d come if I felt low, and partly because of the interesting colours and patterns. I’m going to create a series of paintings based on the photos and wondered if anyone else would like this stage of their treatment recorded in this way.
The photos will be used as a reference for abstact paintings - you would not be identified in any way. If you are interested in sending me a photo of a bruise or scar, message me and I will give you my email address.

I haven’t any “boob bruises” for you as I went through my treatment a while ago but I am halfway through a reconstruction at the moment & have the most enormous bruise on my thigh from where they have taken some fat to lipofill my new boob. Don’t know whether you would be interested in this. I am quite happy to send you a photo if so.
At least I am not the only one to take photos of the bruising, I thought maybe I was a bit odd.
The oddest is the bright blue post SNB photo.
