calling all her2 ladies

I thought I would post this incase anyone would be interested in asking about this treatment for themselves, or for anyone who has had herceptin and it hasn’t worked. This trial is being carried out in various settings around the country.

I am about to embark on a trial of a new her 2 drug called pertuzamub and was wondering if anyone else is involved or knows someone who has been involved. It’s a two arm bind trial, everyone getting capcetabine and herceptin with 50% getting added pertuzamub, so I only have 50/50 chance of actually getting it. As my last course of treatment docetaxol and herceptin together didn’t work I thought I should try this,i’m a bit scared though as it’s only phase two trial and they still don’t know a lot about long term side effects. I just think well everything we take has risks and it might just be the thing that makes the difference. The trial is ongoing and I get to stay on it as long as it appears to be working. Starting in a couple of weeks once i’ve had all the necessary scans, tests etc. So fingers xd, keep you all posted.

Hi…thanks for posting this…do let us know how you get on.

I’m HER2 and was dx at stage 3b in Jan 2010; just finished Herceptin. Pertuzumab has had quite a lot of mentions at the bc symposia hasn’t it? I read a few conference presentations and it looks as though its worthwhile.

Pleased to see its being trialled for the ok here. By the way, do ask your onc about Neuvax (HER2 vaccine), which has had stunning results in phase 3 trials in the USA and is heading our way. Depending on your exact HER2 status, youmight be eligible for forthcoming trials of that here soon too.

Keep us posted and hope it does the trick for you xxx

Thanks xwelcomex, I read your post about the vaccine the other day, I don’t know my exact her2 status but I will certainly be asking about it now, hopefully something else to add to the arsenal for fighting this.

I will keep you posted about how it goes.

Keep well
