Hi ladies, got another question for the big busted, did you all wear bras during the day whilst having your treatment. Someone mentioned wearing a cotton vest but my boobs are so large that I’m going to have the bottom of my boob laying on my skin on my ribs and I’m worried about sweat between the crease. Any suggestions will help, I just don’t feel I could go out without a bra on. Is it really uncomfortable with a bra on?

I found it fine to wear a bra as long as not underwired. I did get a sore red patch under my bust still, probably not helped by the heat during last july/August. I still wear a soft bra top most nights for support in bed.

Yes I wore a non-wired bra every day (5 days) as I’m 36GG but I didn’t have skin breakdown, just a bit of sunburn feeling. My lump was upper, outer quadrant, which is where the radiotherapy was targeted so had no issues under the boob. Didn’t wear one in bed from memory

I wore my normal underwired bra throughout all my treatment ( I’m 34H). I’ve had a lumpectomy and re excision ops to the upper right breast with no lymph node involvement other than a single sentinel node biopsy, followed by 5 days of radiotherapy. I did initially query whether I would need to wear other types of bras but I was told it wasn’t necessary and I got on well with my normal bras. Hope that helps but everyone’s experience is different.

I wore tshirt crop top style bra from George at Asda. They are a bit fiddly getting them on and off but stretch a lot.
I have been using a piece of silk in my bra underneath the lower edge. Another woman on this site suggested it and it’s been really helpful to me. I have been wearing a non wired sports bra which is mostly comfortable( and certainly better than going without) the area underneath the treated boob has been red and a little sore. The silk just seems to protect it

I hadnt worn a bra for over 40 years, but the surgeon suggeta sports bra might eb of help .
Ive worn one off and on since. Ehen i get really hot and sweaty in the underneath crease, i usually put a pantyliner under there. And if it gets sore, ill smother the pantylie with sudocreme!!
I still dont feel right wearing a bra of anykind. I find them restrictive.
