— can anyone help please — Just had a telephone call from my dad (he’s 87 and sometimes gets things wrong) but he said something about -‘he said he’s not sure of the details’ - that Gordon Burns had just announced on the news that cds were being sold in aid of charities which were NOT in aid of charities so don’t buy them.
Since in the last few months I’ve raised several thousand pounds on a cd I produced in aid of charity - I’m really concerned. The latest project is for GENESIS and we need £180,000 in the next six years. This has been going really well - and if this was announced it is going to really scupper the genuine fundraisers.
Did anyone see the tv announcement? did my dad get it right? Did they mention which charity the cds were being sold in aid of?
Help would be appreciated. Thanks

— bjj and Siggy — Thanks for that. I can’t find anything on the site either, but just seen mum and I get the feeling dad may have got confused again. I think it is the old story of people COPYING existing cds and selling them on the market because my dad, bless him, keeps going on about they had a big cardboard box - as though that would help me identify the cds!!!

I have tried doing various searches etc and keep drawing blanks. I think you may be right it could well be the old story of copying CDs. Will still keep my eyes open for you though.
