I recently went for a routine mammogram, there is no history of breast cancer in the family with exception to my grandfather’s twin who died from it.
To my surprise, I received a call 3 days later telling me I was booked for another mammogram and ultrasound on Saturday. During my mammogram appointment, the doctor was consulted and I went on to the ultra sound where again the doctor was consulted. I have a mass measuring 43 mm X 41 mm but there is no lump that I can feel nor seen??? the doctor took 2 biopsies and put a pin in where they were taken to ensure being able to locate the area again.
Has anyone had a similar experience? what was the outcome?

Hi ,I dont want to be the bearer of bad news but a number of ladies I have spoken to, myself included ,have had masses picked up by routine mammograms that could not be felt either by themselves or the doctor. If the lump is very deep sometimes this can be the case, does not necessarily mean that the mass you have is cancerous though, there are other explanations and often they play safe even if there is even a small element of doubt.Did the doc not give you any indication of what they think they are lokking at?
the doc said it may be nothing but doesn’t want to take a chance. it’s just scary since this all happened within a week of a routine mammogram. However I am happy and grateful not to have to wait for multiple appointments before getting to this point
Hopefully it will be nothing to worry about ,good luck .
