Can you travel abroad while being treated with Herceptin?

Hiya,
I’m 32 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in April and I had surgery to remove the lump in May. There were clear margins and no node involvment. The lump was grade 2 and HER2 positive. I have been told I will need chemo, radio and herceptin. I’m currently waiting for my appt with the oncologist to discuss everything and find out when my treatment starts. Obviously, I’ve lots of thoughts/questions about what’s to come, but I need to know about travelling. My sister is planning on getting married in Majorca next June, when my chemo and radio will be over, but I’ll still be mid Herceptin. Will I be able to travel abroad while that treatment is ongoing?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

Yes, you can travel on herceptin.I am due to go to Spain this summer, by then it will be herceptin number 12 for me and have already planned this in with the herceptin nurse ( I get mine at home) they can jiggle the days around a bit to accommodate you. Just make sure your insurance company know.

Good luck with your treatment.

And someone has very helpfully bumped the insurance thread, with some pretty good insurance quotes!

Good luck with your treatment.
