Hi Ladies, i have had my results from my WLE and Sentinel node biopsies ,it is good news and bad news ,the good news is that they got a clear margin and my lymph nodes were clear ,but the bad news is that it is grade 3 and not grade 2 they first told me .I waited for almost 9 weeks to have my op as the surgeon who i have great faith in couldn’t do it sooner.I now wonder if waiting this long allowed the cancer to become more aggressive,any ideas on this please?I also have this thought in my head that cancer cells can infiltrate the blood vessel walls and spread this way.I don’t know what my treatment plan will be yet i have an appointment with the oncologist on June 10th.I hope they do a fullbody scan as i am still worried that it has spread ,i have a wierd feeling in my left ribs which i had before they dignosed BC so i am worried that something else is going on .do they do this as a routine test if you have the results that i have had does anybody know.? Mine was a Grade 3 with clear margins and no spread to lymph nodes and no vascular invasion. My treatment was 15 sessions of Radiotherapy and 5 years of Anastrozole. I did not have a full body scan just a dexa scan. Try to stay positive I know it’s not easy. Just try and take one day at a time. Your treatment plan will be what is best for you as everyones journey on this road is very different. Keep posting to let us know how you are getting on. Mine was upgrade from 2 to 3 and I had my op only 12 days after diagnosis. The pathology that is undertaken on the tumour when removed is much more detailed than that of the biopsy so don’t worry that waiting has made a difference.
My report said “possible” lympho vascular invasion. No one has mentioned scans to me, my lymph nodes were clear so im not sure about that.
I still have no appointment to see oncologist so don’t yet know definite treatment plan but I do know it will involve chemo, radio and Herceptin as I am also HER2 +.
I have also had problems with my shoulder which was there prior to this and it has got worse but my docs say that this is down to stress and nothing else.

I waited 7 weeks for GP to refer me to breast clinic, by the time i was diagnosed with triple neg in october, 3mths had passed. I was started on chemo 4 weeks later and had SNLB 2 weeks after that as surgeon could not fit me in to schedule prior to chemo starting. Chemo finished 22nd march and WLE done 20th April node negative and clear margins also. I was also worried about time frame from GP appointment to surgery and asked about scans as I was concerned it may have spread.
My surgeon,oncologist and bcn told me that scans are not given if node clear and to try not to worry too much.
I feel much better now and due to start radiotherapy next week and I am sure I am having the best treatment.
