Cancer Support Centre, Sutton Coldfield

I learned about this place from a friend whose DiL was diagnosed with BC while pregnant. (Baby is well and adorable.) It’s on the Tamworth side of Sutton Coldfield, overlooking a vista of fields from many of the windows. The therapies offered are mainly complementary therapies, massage and counselling; the therapists donate hours (I think they get something for expenses), and you can have up to 6 sessions. I’m not sure whether there’s any geographical limit, but as it’s not too far from the Sutton Coldfield bypass, it should be accessible by car to people from the area generally. Not so good for travelling by public transport, apparently. It’s certain available to people from the Birmingham area, but not from SC.

I’m going to have an assessment early in December to see which of their therapies might benefit me (post WLE, axillary clearance, chemo, rads and now on Arimidex) so I’ll let you all know how it goes. They provide counselling for family members as well. It’s supported by a local charity, so the therapies are free, but I’m sure they don’t say no to contributions.

If anyone is interested, or if you know of anyone in the area who might benefit (any cancer, of course), it’s:
