Hi, I can’t have my chemo today. The doctor said when I had tonsillitis at the weeken my white blood cell count was 0.2 and it has only come up to 1.3 today. She also said I need an ultrasound on my liver as the gamer gt was 400 but that was coming down from what it was at the weekend. I had large red spots with yellow spots on my head after the first chemo that was really sore, the doctor gave it a name and is also going to give me an antibiotic injection next time to stop that happening. I know a lot of other people have mentioned that they got them on this site. She had also given me emend that I asked for as it seems a lot of people a Did not have any sickness after using this drug. I have also been referred for acupuncture as they said that it will also help with my sickness.

Aw Susy, hope you are better soon. My doc has prescribed me GCSF injections to help with my cell count, could you get those?

Hi yes I think those are the injection they are talking about I have to give myself them after so many days. Did you feel better for having them?
Hi Susy,
I had a course of 5 injections. (there is also one jab you can have called Neulasta). I asked what the difference was overall and its just that its one injection versus 5.
My district nurse comes and gives them to me, but some ladies inject themselves.
They can cause bone bain in some people (in the bigger bones)…soemthing to do with the bone marrow production. Right now i feel fine and have done so…but i have only had one lot.
My onc also prescribed me antibiotics to start taking on day 8 regardless of whether i had an infection or not.
I have only had one round of chemo, so i dont know how i will be on the others. but so far its ok…
