I was wondering if anyone had any sleeping habits or tricks to help them sleep? My friend has mentioned trouble sleeping waking up throughout the night and very early in the morning. Also she is just very tired when she wakes up regardless of how much ‘sleep’ she has. Thanks
Hi Claireduncaff,
I had the same and my BCN prescribed Lorazepam for the first three days of chemo as I was getting a lot of anxiety and then 7 days of Zopiclone to help sleep through. I did try to get by without them at first but had trouble gettting to sleep and then staying alseep, I was also having terrible anxiety dreams, so finally took the Zopiclone.
I hope that helps,
Cheers,
Kirsty
I attended an anxiety management and relaxation session and was shown breathing techniques to help with sleeping. 5 slow breaths in followed by 5 slow breathes out repeatedly will calm the mind. Also 4 breathes in followed by a quick puff out from the mouth of the air is also a good one when stressed … I find the 5 in by 5 out slow really good at night time xx
Gentle exercise during the day such as a walk can (believe it or not) help with tiredness xx
Also trying to keep fluids up of 2-3 litres a day of water, squash, fruit juice etc
P.s. I’m obviously no expert but these things have helped me so hopefully help others xx
