Found a lump in left breast last fri - went to gp on monday and got appt at clinic this friday. But keep feeling breast to check lump is still there - not got much experience at knowing what other peoples breast feel like so it is hard to know what is a lump and what normal. Anyway will soon know - but am getting some strange looks at traffic lights as I sit in car checking my lump.
in the middle of a separation at mo. so all things very tough - why does it all happen at once.
Am I supposed to get pain down my arm and into my finger - it is true that you start imagining all sorts and become so aware of every little ache
Hi Jane,
So sorry to hear that in the middle of other difficulties you are having to cope with the worry of a lump.
4 years ago I found a lump which turned out to be a cyst but what made me smile was the nurse saying 'You have got lumpy breasts haven’t you? Like you having little or to be honest no experience of what a breast should or should not feel like I just smiled at her.
I found another lump last year which was another cyst however the scan then found two other areas which couldn’t be felt that were cancer.
So what I am trying to say is not all lumps that can be felt are necessarily cancerous and hope yours is one of those.
best wishes
Magsi x
P.S. hope all the traffic lights are on green for you today!!!

After I had received my diagnosis (i had a small cyst which contained cancerous cells - DCIS) whilst waiting to have surgery, I thought I felt about three new lumps. I had convinced myself the cancer had multiplied and was in such a state. on the morning of the surgery, I had to have an ultrasound to place a wire into the cyst to guide the surgeons as it was very small and asked the doctor to double check all these other “lumps”. she humoured me by doing so. Needless to say, they were not cancer. The more you feel for something, the more likely you are to find it. One good test is to feel the “normal” breast to compare. If you find lumps there in the same place, you can assure yourself it is normal.
Hi Jane,
As Magsi said I too hope you are keeping busy and trying not to worry too much. ( I know easier said than done )
I would try take someone with you if you can, what ever the lump is you will prob be feeling your breasts more now anyway after this scare, I have always tried to do my pelvic floor exercises at traffic lights or in traffic jam, then, felt my breasts and now have slight prob with lymphoedema in my good arm so have been doing a few exercises when I stop!!! so now I am very busy at lights and I sure man behind me the other day was wondering what I was doing waving my arms about in traffic jam, prob thought I was mad, if only he knew !!!
Thinking about you,
Let us know how you get on
Take care
Dawn X

So pleased fior you both I also had good news today I had my tumour and 20 lymph glands removed last week and results today show that none of them where affected and there is a high chance that it will not return, so it shows that catching it early proves results,so encourage those around you to get checked out
Really pleased for you Jane and Tracey.
Its sooooo good to hear news like yours, its been good to have you as visitors on the site but glad you don’t have to join us ( I mean that in the nicest possible way)
Keep popping in wont you and reassure ladies who are where you were just a short time ago.
Love
Magsi x .
P.S. Jane … At least there will be no more distractions at traffic lights for those around you! And as I said before may all your traffic lights be green and stay green.
