I have contributed to the forum topic, “Delays and Mix-ups - how often have you experienced them?”
The first time my (uncontroversial) reply was delayed by 18 hours. I tried to ‘bump’ it again tonight. My reply has again been frozen out when all I wrote was ‘bump’.
Is this topic SO controversial it warrants this level of CENSORSHIP? Are we not allowed to criticise our treatment? Are we not allowed to speak?
I found the post to which you were referring and posted "is this the post… and again it has gone into the ether and is being moderated. I can only think that the team are worried that anyone of us is being or likely to be hyper critical of either a NHS organisation or private organisation and will name names, as we all know, we are not allowed to do this. However it is a shame this censorship has to happen.
I suspect the BCC team are trying to prevent anything that is potentially libellous being published, so the delay is likely to be more to prevent a problem than to stop people’s comments from being published.
I would hope that BCC would contact anyone whose posts might not be accepted on a thread like this so that they can offer advice on posting without putting either the individual or the forums in a difficult position.
Could any of the moderators respond on this thread to give some reassurance? Thanks.
I’m afraid I was one of those contributed to this censorship. In my post to that thread I named two wonderful consultants am/had been under. Those names were removed and my wristees slapped. LOL I must say I was a bit surprised.
Hi all, the posts you are talking about are the ones posted in ‘Standards of care and diagnosis’ and this may help you to understand why your posts are being moderated here:
This topic is to help people find support and information about standards in care and diagnosis. For example, you might share information about what you can expect (perhaps in terms of waiting times or information). You might also share information about taking action, e.g. how to get copies of your notes, how to make an official complaint about your care, how to change your hospital/consultant and so on.
This topic will be pre-moderated. That means that all posts will need to be approved before going live. This is mostly to make sure that our policy of not identifying healthcare professionals in the public forum is adhered to. This policy is in place to protect both forum users and Breast Cancer Care from accusations of defamation. We may review this decision after the topic has been running for a while. In the meantime, if you have any comments about it, please email <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%6d%6f%64%65%72%61%74%6f%72%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%22%3e%6d%6f%64%65%72%61%74%6f%72%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script>.
