I have just been told that BC (sneaky ba*****) has spread to my brain (cerebellum). I already have mets in bones and liver. I am being assessed tomorrow for radiotherapy. The only symptoms I have had is the occasional loss of balance. Does anyone else have a met in their cerebellum? What sympotms did you have and what treatment did you have. Having a real downer today. All help/advice welcome.

Hi Mills I was diagnosed with spread to cerebellum last week. I have two tumours one on each side. I am having a craniotomy next week to be followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. My only symptoms were headache and sickness. I am on Dexamethasone to reduce the swelling and have no pain now. Will be in hospital for a week but let me know if you want to ask anything else. Take care, Gemini
Hi Gemini
Thanks for replying. I am starting radiotherapy on Monday. ONC said that surgery was out of the question as I have mets in liver and bones. Do you have other mets? I would be interested to know as you are having surgery and I am not. The funny thing is I have had no real symptoms. My face went numb but this was attributed to Xeloda or the previous Taxol. The only pain, more discomfort had been in my neck and back of my head. I had a neck injury years ago and the symptoms are just the same. Good luck with the surgery, I hope all goes well for you. When you are well enough let me know how you are getting on. xx
Hi Mills
I was told surgery not an option at first but because ct scan of liver and lungs was clear neurosurgeon is happy to operate. Still need to have a bone scan but that will be after surgery. I had a regional recurrrence to supraclavicle nodes last year which was treated with surgery,Taxol and radiotherapy and am currently on Herceptin. I’m glad you don’t have too much pain and I hope the radiotherapy goes well for you. I’ll check in on you once I resurface ! xx
