Being diagnosed with breast cancer changes everything in your mind dosent it, i work in a physical job and im now starting to think that thats gonna have to change, working from home might be an easier option, what does everyone else think??
Hi definately thinking the same myself . Diagnosed with dcis myself had 2 surgeries and radiotherapy.
Hello Clapse,
Everyone get anxious when we are diagnosed, at the moment I think just take one day at a time and see how your treatment goes, you may do very well and can continue as you are once healed. Sometime working from home can good for some, but not all after an illness we need a bit of company around us.
Wishing you well going forward with health and happiness ahead. Let us know how you’re getting on.

Hi @claspe
I’m sorry you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I agree with @Tili , you may find that you are fine after treatment and not need or want to change jobs so wouldn’t rush into any decisions. When you hear you have cancer it’s hard not to think life is changed forever and things you did before are no longer possible, but for many people they get through their treatment plans and back to their normal lives. x
Are you in the UK as your work needs to consider reasonable adjustments under the Disability act. Maybe talk to personnel or citizens advice.

I’ve found it helps to look at long-term paths, especially since the job outlook is -19.1%, which just makes solid skills even more valuable. Starting as a receptionist or admin and building up through a 1–2 year certification can open doors, and the pay can climb fast in places like DC or California. Shadowing a local paralegal for a day also gave me a clearer picture of what fits my style.
