I don’t know what surgery you had, but within 2 weeks after I had my WLE (‘lumpectomy’) and sentinel node biopsy in early July I saw the surgeon again to get my results and check healing. Only then was an appointment made with the oncologist, nearly 6 weeks after surgery - I think they usually allow at least 6 weeks to heal properly before radiotherapy.
Thanks luckylass wow six weeks I was led to believe sooner than that Need to chase as expected oncologist appointment next week. My surgery was full bi lateral masectomy with lymph node clearance on left side
I want all treatment complete so I can confirm reconstruction date
Hi
I had Lumpectomy on 29th Jan, saw the oncologist on 19th March and started my Radiotherapy on 3rd April. That was 9 weeks after surgery. All hospitals are different. Hope you hear soon keep us posted.
