Hi everyone, Im currently have FEC, 3 down so far, then having a lumpectomy. Is anyonelse going through this or had treatment in this order? So far the FEC side effects have been sickness the first two then after the third one not as much. Feeling more tired though but not working in between as work with 2-4 year olds. Consultant doesnt know if Im having 6 0r 8 FEC as waiting to see how much the tumour reduced by. so far it has shrunk from 4cm to 2cm which is good news. good luck to all having chemo this week xxxx

I will be having chemo first as well, followed by lumpectomy.
I’m still right at the beginning though and have not been told date for 1st chemo yet (was only diagnosed last week).
Its great to hear that your tumour has shrunk 2cm already - I bet you’re really pleased with that.

Yes I had treatment that way round too. FEC chemo x6 ended on 9th December and I had my surgery last Monday. I think that may have been a bit of a longer wait than normal because of Christmas and New Year being in between. I had a very good response to the chemo so the surgery wasn’t as drastic as it could have been and it sounds like you are doing well too so fingers crossed for you.
Surgery wasn’t too bad. I’ve never had an op before so I didn’t know what to expect. Only stayed in overnight and was home by lunchtime the next day.
I have had to go back to the BCN’s today cos I was in a bit of discomfort and apparently I have a slight infection so am now on antibiotics! It never ends does it!
Anyway, good luck with the rest of your treatment. If you want to know anything else just ask!

Hi Jen, we can help each other get through this. Yes was pleased about the tumour, just hope it carries on shrinking. let me know when your 1st chemo is. I was dreading it and it wasnt half as bad as I expected. xx Ness x
