I’m sure hearing that from the oncologist makes you feel better. It’s now up to your employer, they need to know that you won’t necessarily be at full capacity while having treatment and there may be days when you can’t work at all. I wish you well in your treatment
Quite frankly your employer sounds like a dick. Im sorry that theyre questioning you instead of encouraging you to do whatever is best for yourself mentally and physically. This makes me sick!!! I didnt work through chemo therapy and that was the advice of my care team.
You don’t have to work at all! I went to work in between cheom appointments. EC is really tough too! I had nearly a week off after each appointment with EC and then went in for a week, before my next appointment. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being cautious at all. I’m a postie and I physically wouldn’t have been able to do my job some days after the chemo. I was lucky and was allowed to take things easy when I was in. I only had 4 EC then went on to paxitaxil (can’t remember how to spell it) which I have to say is much kinder and I didn’t feel half as bad. I had chemo on the Friday and was back in work on the Monday with that one.
I personally think it is appalling they are even asking you to go in. They should be grateful yoy are doing any work at all. Might be worth talking to MacMillan as I don’t think they can ask you to go in at all. You’re going through enough without them hassling you. Good luck x
