Hi this is my second diagnosis , it could be a recurrance, anyway, have been told i will need a mastectomy. Preciously had bc in 2008 had wle , chemo and rads. What are the choices re: mastectomy and reconstruction after having rads , does this affect things??? We are seeing the breast surgeon hopefully this week to make a plan as he is away next week , more waiting !!! had bone scan last week and ct scan today . Will possibly need good breast reducing too as i am a 40 E . Any advice etc is welcome . Thanks all

Sorry to see you have had a 2nd diagnosis. re: reconstructions i am no expert as i have had an MX and i am waiting for a delayed reconstruction. I will be having rads next month. I have been told i can have a reconstruction using my stomach. I have big boobs (36G) so i have been told i will also need an impant. No mention of a reduction but i am guessing it may need to happen.
I am sure there will be more knowledgeable ladies along soon.

I had rads in 1999 after a WLE. In Dec last year I was again diagnosed with breast cancer in the same breast - it was presumed that this was a new primary. I had a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction in Feb this year which went very well. Its horrible having to go through it again after thinking you can put it all behind you isn’t it? I hope you get good results from your bone/CT scans. If I can be of any help feel free to PM me.
