Hi I got it and replied hope you got the reply X
Happy Mother’s Day everyone, let’s make it a not thinking about cancer day, just for today at least xx
I have just had a wle and sentinel ln testing for primary breast cancer. Was totally gutted when 1 of 2 nodes were positive. Everything had been clear on imaging. Also had 6 cycles of chemo pre-op so was hoping anything in nodes would be dead. Back in for lymph node clearance last week. In agony compared to first op. Burning pain down back of arm and in axilla. Numbness down arm and axilla. At day 10 still on tonnes of pain killers struggling to do exercises this time. Dreading pathology results in 2 days. Also dreading starting radiotherapy. Fed up of constant cycle of treatment.
Hi raffles I was same after second op severe pain and burning down my arm, much more restricted movement. I had traces in 2 of 3 nodes but the next 21 removed all clear, I’ve just started chemo last week. My second op was 9 Feb and apart from some numbness still I’m back to normal re pain and movement try to give yourself a bit extra time, 2 anaesthetics in rapid succession can knock you for six xx
Raffles, you are not alone. Think full clearance is a much bigger thing to get over than we realise. I’m almost six weeks post my clearance now and still have the sunburny feeling down the back of my arm when I touch it. Armpit itself is still quite lumpy and tender. It’s just such an awkward part of the body to heal I guess. I was like you, one of two nodes affected but after full clearance they found nothing else so fingers crossed for you too.
Hang on in there.
Ruth xx
