Concerning MRI Results

Hi!

Recently. I had an MRI because I am high risk due to family history and dense breast. My results are listed below. Please share your thoughts and similar stories with outcomes. If fine to be raw with me, I do better with transparency.

MRI Results: Focal nonmass enhancement left breast. no definitive associated t2 hyperintense signal. scattered bilateral similar benign-appearing circumscribed oval masses. none stands out from background. these do limit detection of small invasive cancers. birads 4

I also see where my doctor ordered an ultrasound of my neck and soft tissue. She only told me about the MRI guided biopsy. I’m confused.

@waveback1983 …. I would put this information into ChatGPT and ask it to explain the results to you in simpleton language … I did this with biopsy results, my histology results and my CT scan results …. I also do it every week with my blood test results! It’s brilliant to get such medical technical information interpreted in a way in which us normal folk can understand :growing_heart:

Hi waveback1983,

Thanks for posting asking about your recent MRI scan results.

It can be a worrying time when you get the results of an investigation, and you are not sure of the meaning for you. As these are written by doctors for doctors, we are unable to comment on an individual imaging report. The doctor or specialist team who request your high-risk screening will be best placed to explain what the report means in your individual situation. If you are under a family history clinic you could contact them to discuss it.

@big has suggested putting the information through ChatGPT, whilst it may offer some information, we cannot be certain of its accuracy, and we would always suggest discussing your results with your treatment team.

You also say that your doctor has ordered an ultrasound of your neck and soft tissue which you weren’t aware of. it would help to arrange a discussion with your doctor about these tests and the results of your MRI.
