I was scheduled to have three FEC which completed followed by three Taxatere. I reacted very badly to it and have been told I can’t have anymore. I’m seeing Oncologist again next Wednesday and have been advised, if my peripheral neuropathy has gone I will have four weeks of weekly Taxol but if still there will stop all together. I will then have planned mastectomy and axillary node clearance plus radiotherapy.
My confusion is if they’re happy to stop it after four then why complete course. If I do need the extra doses is it detrimental not to have the complete course

I’m sure you are fed up of waiting but wait and see what they say chick xx it’s all to confusing to worry about! I had my lumb removed and node clearance before chemo… Radio next x
I too had a bad reaction to Taxotere, after three FEC. My last two sessions were back to FEC after being delayed for two weeks to let my hands heal a bit more ( they were peeling badly ). I had asked onc if taxol would be better as I had heard the side effects were less, but she said they were both based on the yew tree clippings so would make no difference. I had already had a mastectomy, so not sure if this is a help. I also have peripheral neuropathy, which unfortunatey four weeks post chemo is still affecting me. Just hope it improves soon as its difficult do many every day tasks. Good luck.
Thank you she said I can’t go back to FEC as I started the peripheral neuropathy with that so whatever I have will make it worse and leave permanent damage. I will just have to see how it goes next week and trust in their advice. Thank you xxx
