Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced chest infections post treatment? I reached my 5yr milestone in sept which is great but ever since coming off the meds I’ve suffered with continual chest infections.i received chemo & radiotherapy & I’m now wondering if there is a link with radiotherapy & long lasting chest problems? When I had radiotherapy they would place a mat on my chest which they said intensifies the treatment, could this have after effects? Would like to hear your opinions! Thank u x
Not sure if this is relevant to your case. But I had 20 fractions of high dose chemo for lymphoma 26 years ago when I am now post bilateral mx for TNBC. BUT whe i had my radiotherapy for many years later I was always prone to pretty nasty chest infections so it may be that you are more susceptible. Thye did eventually get less and I don’t get them at all now… Just struggling with the surgery now, but did have similar experience of chest infections post XRT. Hope things improve quickly for you xxx
Hi I’ve had four ops but no chemo or rads and have had recurrent chest infections . Five in the last year. I’m convinced that my immune system is low, maybe due to the stress of it all. I’ve never smoked, exercise regularly, eat really healthy food, small amount of alcohol. There’s no more I can do for myself (other than winning the lottery and giving up work)
I’m considering visiting a salt cave, which I’ve heard so good for chest problems.
Before all of this, I never used to get colds. Although 5 years ago I had a very nasty chest infection, so who know ?
It’s very draining and often the only thing to do is rest, which is not easy.
Best wishes
Z
