cool pack, what a relief!!!

Hi Ladies,
I know this may seem a little weird, but i have been having really crappy sweats on and of all day and night long, onc said that unfortunatly that is one of the SE’s that they can’t help with, so i was really fed up.
To cut a long story short, my OH gave me a cool pack from the freezer, the ones you put inside a cool box for picknick’s, he wrapped it in a t-towel and i put it on my neck and upper chest area, what a relief, i even take one up to bed with me, i put it by the side of the bed, and if i wake up in the night i just rest it on my neck and it cools me down instantley.
Maybe someone has mentioned this before, but i thought it was worth a mention incase it hadn’t been.
I have a fan in the bedroom, but it annoy’s me , as it wakes me up,if i’m not hot i’m cold, ha ha.

Dear Sandra, have you heard of a chillow pillow? These are flat pillows that you fill with water which is absorbed by the cushion. They don’t need to be put in the fridge but become cool when left out to air. I find it very useful when I have hot flushes. I can’t remember where I bought mine from but if you google the name you will find suppliers.

Hi Alison, thanks for the reply, Yes i saw them advertised on Ideal world on the television, it was £30.00 and i thought about getting one but didn’t know if i would be wasting the money, do you find it really affective? if so i may purchase one?
Thanks again Sandrae x

Sandra

I think I paid about £25 for mine. They’re flat and soft - not to be used as a pillow on their own but to keep by the bed for when you need it. I find the heat rises from my chest so it’s nice and soft and cool to place where you have to. I would definitely recommend buying one.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Alison, will get one and give at a try,
