Coping at age 77

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am a 77 year old woman and would like to know of others around my age and how did you cope. Due to medical history I will be starting a course of chemo tablet form within the next two weeks.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum .There are definitely older ladies active on the forum but others may well have experience of the chemo regime you’ve been prescribed .If you post in the chemotherapy section you will be able to get some advice re what to expect .There is a "someone like me " service run by Breast Cancer Care that can put you in touch with someone in very similar circumstances if you feel that would help you can ring the helpline and ask about it .Are you going to have surgery too ? Jill.

Chris, a BIG HUG !

i do feel so much for you.  I will be 73 this month. I had worrying symptoms, saw my Consultant on Thursday for results; mammogram and breast examination ok.  He thinks it’s a Papilloma, which he is going to remove and of course have it biopsied.

As Jill says there’s a lot of support here…
