Cording - anyone any experience?

HI

I’ve recently developed a pain on the underside of my arm near the elbow. I thought maybe I’d banged it or something then remembered the term ‘cording’ . I’ve looked it up and I may or may not be experiencing it - but does anyone have any experience of it?

Thanks

ALison

Hi Alison

I had cording through my arm after first surgery and through my boob after op on the other side. My consultant thinks some people are just prone to it.

Basically feels very sore when you stretch and you can see the cord being pulled in you can do stretching excerciss I found walking my arm up the wall helped to stretch it and rubbing in ibuprofen gel. I also saw the physio who did try to release it a bit and always felt better after she had fiddled with it by never went away for months and that was just really of it’s own accord. I broke my hand a year later and it came for another few months but not really had much problems with cording in my arm since then.

The physio also tried kinesio taping but that didn’t work for me but does for some folk.

Hi Impatiens,

I have put for you below the link to the area of this website where cording is discussed, also the link to BCC’s free DVD regarding exercises. Hope these help.

Thanks very much both of you. I found a very old post from 2007 which had some exercises too.

Best wishes
