Oh my goodness!!! I got a full pay out. What a huge relief. I have to say it has been 2 weeks since I started the claim and today they agreed the full pay out. Aviva have been brilliant. I think it helped that I had all of the paperwork so it was a case of checking it was all genuine with my cancer nurse.
Thank you so much to you all for your help and advice. Xx
I had grade 2 lobular CĂ, got full payment with LG, had to wait for GP and Consultants to answer. They were ok. I was surprised neither Maggie centre ir MacMillan told me about this though, my ex husband did.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on this post. It didnât occur to me after I was diagnosed in June this year (with stage 2, grade 3, ER positive, HER2 neg, invasive ductal carcinoma) that my critical illness insurance with Legal & General would cover this. I just assumed you had to have an advanced stage cancer (like stage 3 or 4) to get a payout.
After reading this thread I submitted a claim and provided all my surgeonâs paperwork which crucially showed my cancer was malignant and invasive. I know L&G contacted the surgeon too and his wonderful and efficient secretary ensured all paperwork was completed and returned swiftly.
Anyway, six weeks after submitting the claim I received the full payout which will go towards paying off the mortgage. Itâs a huge weight off my shoulders as Iâm still going through treatment. Knowing my husband wonât have to take on our mortgage debt if something happens to me is a huge relief.
I took out a life/critical illness policy in my 30âs to cover my mortgage and an income replacement policy. I was so glad I had continued to pay for 22 years. The one covering the mortgage only had a few years to go.
AVIVA were brilliant and I even got interest on the policy & refunded premiums from diagnosis. It took a couple of months to sort the paperwork.
Good luck with your claims. Xx
Hello - I wish you well with your claim. Itâs usually all laid out in the small
Print of the policy document.
I got a full payout on a critical illness claim from Scottish Widows - on my policy the thing that triggered the payout was confirmation of invasive cancer.
They were very nice and I had the money within a month. I hope you succeed with your claim as it does help at a stressful time.
Best wishes
