Hello, I am new here. I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Started chemo two weeks ago. I recived my CT scan results yesterday and it shows I have a nodule on my thyroid. I have been told this might be nothing to worry about as a lot of people have them, but it needs to be investigated. I just wondered if anyone out there has had similar experiences. Any comfort would be much appreciated. BTW, best wishes to you all. x
Hi Buster,
welcome to the forum - sorry you had to find yourself here. We are all here to support you, as well as we can. It is a great place for rants and raves, tears and laughter.
Sorry to hear that they have found a nodule on your thyroid. I am glad they told you it seems to be something not to be too concerned about.
I have had a CT scan, too post my diagnosis and they found a nodule on my kidney. So I was sent for further in depth CT scans. I was very worried, although I was told that it can happen. I researched - and yes we often seem to have nodules somewhere, which appear to be nothing to worry about.
I had my specialist urology appointment today and was told that I had a very solid cyst and one small kidney stone in one kidney and two further small stones in the other kidney. It was not cancerous - I have been absolutely assured of it.
In some ways, however frightening - having this kind of MOT check at least highlights other issues, which one may have that we otherwise would have never known about. And it gives us an opportunity to address them to avoid future challenges.
So I keep my fingers crossed that the invesigation turns out positive - as mine was.
On another note - there is a monthly chemotherapy starters thread, which you may wish to join.
