curly locks

I have read that hair can come on curly but mine is CURLY!!! My hair was always very wavy almost curly but peroxide and hair straightners took their toll Will I have to cut these bubbles off can’t bear to lose one millionth of an inch of regrowth love Eileen

Hi Eileen,

Had had very thick curly hair that I left to run riot because straightening it just made me look like Worzel Gumage. When it came back I kept it very short, it looks really trendy and everyone comments on how good it looks ( How bad did it used to look!).

Cheers

I actually quite like it but it is very short and don’t think it will look good when longer. Look a bit like a 70’s type. Does it go straight? Love Eileen

I let my hair have 6 weeks growth before cutting and it began to go very wavy. I was tempted to leave it as I am beginning chemo again but decided to go for the short crop to lessen the impact when it drops out.

The first time round I had some really good laughs about my hair loss, it never bothered me. One whole clump when flying out the car window when I wound the window down. Another time a big clump came out when I took a hat off. It looked like one of those scottish caps with hair sticking from the edges.

I got very creative with scarves, hated the wig, never wore it what a waste of NHI money.
Cheers

Hiya all,

Prior to chemo my hair was quite wavy. For some reason over the past 7 years or so my hair was getting wavier & wavier.
When my hair was wet it looked like a shaggy perm!
My hair was very thick & quite long (very similar style/length as Stacey Slater’s in Eastenders) which took me an hour or so to straighten.

My hair now looks like Paul O’Grady! Same style, length & COLOUR!!
I had to dye it on Monday as I was sooooooooo embarrassed of the colour. Im only 37, I dont want white hair?!!

So far my hair is totally straight…no signs of any waves in there (yet?)
Im hoping it stays straight this time round!!!

Regards

Julie

I had ‘adorable’ ringlets up til i was 18 months old…then it went straight. Pre-chemo i had waist long, incredibly thick blond hair…not a curl in sight lol. Now…finished chemo in august…and am still trying to figure out why hair grows up instead of going flat lol…so all i can say is i swear the hair fairy comes to see me at night and makes it all go all buuufonty…telling you marie antoinettes wigs had nothing on my buuuufont. It is going all curly at the back…but am hoping that as it gets longer the weight of it will pull it straight…i am not having ‘adorable’ ringlets at 31!

mine went curly after chemo, having been straight before, but then after a couple of years went straight again - its not just the weight (which I thouhgt it might be) as I just cut it short and it is definitely straight now. All a mystery!
