Just to let you know that my dear friend who posted as CzechMate passed away at the weekend. She had been diagnosed with mets in November 2012 and was undergoing RT following chemo. CM was an athletic girl, always biking/hiking and so on. She was a source of great support to me when I was diagnosed four years ago and has stayed a good friend for all that time. She really struggled with many of the same post surgery body issues and contributed to the work on the body image campaign. Some of you may also remember her posting on a lengthy legal case regarding the surgery.
She was the kindest, most thoughtful woman anyone could wish to know and I miss her dearly.
I knew her only briefly really, but during that time, i found her to be a woman of complete dertermination .
She shared with me the horror behind her legal battle as i was starting to put mine together (we both believed justice should be served on the negligent surgery front). But for CM, it took so much of her precious energy and time, was it really worth it in the end?
You will always be in my thoughts as one who fought for justice and with so much conviction and courage.
