Hi everyone,
I am about to start my radiotherapy treatment on 13 Feb. I can reach edinburgh in one hour on the train. I have read all the information about the accommodation available but feel very unsettled about staying away from home. Has anyone else taken the decision to travel daily and how did you find it.
Hello
My journey was about an hour each way on a good day, but as most of my appointments were around 9am I had to leave extra time for the rush hour. It was doable but did get tiring towards the end (last week or so) - do you get the option to travel initially but leave your options open to change your mind towards the end.
Hope it all goes well
Anne
Hi ruperts mum
Edinburgh is tricky because loads of folk have to travel so far… Some even a two hour journey each way on top of the tiredness and fatigue that the rads cause… The accommodation is very limited at pentlandite house and tends to be for those furthest away like Dumfries and the Borders… Do you have somebody who could come with you even some of the time just for some moral support… Some people are absolutely fine and work right through their rads travelling back and forth others are completely floored.
